GXO packs DESKTOP

Bringing two
teams together,
piece by piece.

Following the merger of GXO and Wincanton, GXO hosted a Leadership Forum to bring colleagues from both organisations together for the first time. A key requirement was an activity that would spark natural interaction between them.

The brief (in brief)

Many attendees had never met before, yet were now part of the same organisation. GXO needed an activity that would ease introductions, encourage conversation and build a shared sense of identity, while helping Wincanton colleagues better understand GXO’s structure and values.

The challenge was to create something simple and enjoyable on the surface, but carefully planned behind the scenes. Teams needed to be intentionally mixed, interactions engaging, and logistics completely seamless.

Our approach.

We introduced personalised registration packs, each containing a colourcoded jigsaw piece linked to a GXO business unit. Delegates were tasked with finding others with the same colour and working together to complete their puzzle. The format was simple, immediately engaging and encouraged movement and conversation across both organisations.

Each pack also included a personalised notebook, name badge, recycled GXO pen and an “Ask us anything” card.

Behind the scenes, our data team prebuilt every team, ensuring a balanced mix of GXO and Wincanton colleagues. Each of the 200 packs was then carefully produced and crosschecked to match the data plan exactly.

We also supported GXO’s design team with templates, specifications and production guidance, before assembling and colourcoding every pack by hand, ready for distribution on the day.

The important stuff.

The result was a seamless, highenergy activity that delivered exactly as intended. Delegates mixed naturally, conversations flowed and new connections were quickly formed.

The jigsaw concept also carried through into the wider event, with visuals reinforcing key GXO business units and creating a clear narrative link. Feedback described the experience as engaging, memorable and a step up from previous events.

Sustainability was built in throughout, with all materials FSCcertified and carbon balanced, supporting the protection of 8m² of critically threatened tropical forest through the World Land Trust.

“The feedback has been really positive! People thought they were great and a brilliant elevation from previous events which is just what we were after. The jigsaw pieces worked perfectly and the quality was top notch.”
