New employment brand for Shoreline
Meet Des the seagull who is helping people get back in to work as part of Shoreline Housing’s new brand initiatives …
Shoreline Housing Partnership’s ‘Development. Employment. Skills.’ is an in-house initiative that helps local residents into work. Through support, advice, services and opportunities such as CV writing and interview tips, to much-needed apprenticeships, intern-ships and supported placements, they were keen to bring this to life. resource was tasked with delivering a brand that would do just that and using the acronym ‘des’…. Cue seagull!
Because of Shoreline’s proximity to the coastline the introduction of a branded character to bring personality to the des brand was a simple one. Des,’ The most insightful seagull’ was born and the playfulness of this character was very much embraced by the Shoreline team as they celebrated the launch with branded merchandise, fish and chips and a selfie or two.
Shoreline employment and skills manager Claire Etheridge said: “We have a strong commitment to supporting our tenants and the local community into work. It’s fantastic to be able to launch a new branded employability service – we’re excited for everyone to meet des. Over the next few months we will be increasing apprenticeship recruitment, introducing a work experience programme and offering supported employment opportunities to external community organisations – so watch this space.”
