resource welcomes 2 new sales graduates
“So, here’s to you Mrs Robinson”.
Most graduates of today probably won’t recognise the song or even the artist…but in the late ‘60s the idea of being a ‘graduate’ was propelled to a new status level with Dustin Hoffman playing a rather reluctant under graduate in the film of the same title! Of course, it was Simon and Garfunkel who came up with the lyrics that suddenly made it quite cool to be a graduate. Personally, I enjoy the lyrics and feel that at least one of the verses conjures up how we felt about welcoming our very first graduates to resource in February this year…
“We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files
we’d like to help you learn to help yourself
look around you; all you see are sympathetic eyes
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home”
For isn’t it just that? Home. And aren’t we trying to help them to help themselves? Hopefully we all have a pair of sympathetic eyes and we are supporting them to raise their own profiles?! Sentiment aside, a Graduate Sales Training Programme isn’t something that has always been on our agenda; but growth, diversity and succession is. So, we took a different recruitment path this year and it led us to two young men who had just completed their marketing degrees and were eager to find a place that they could call home and release their inner brand. We thought ‘why not’ and we gave it a shot!
We are delighted that Elliot and Robert are already contributing to our team and they bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm plus their love of everything ‘social’ complements our own personal brand…they’re certainly Making it Happen! Resource recognises the importance of investing in our people who continue to help drive the business model of tomorrow; and we’re really proud that it continues to feel like home too! “coo coo cachoo”
