Focus on floods – are you prepared?
With floods on the increase in recent years and predictions that they will be more
common in future, we want everyone who lives in a Clanmil home to be prepared
if the worst should happen.
You can find out if you live in a flood risk area by viewing the Department for

What to do if you live in a
flood risk area
• Check your contents
insurance policy. Confirm
you are covered for flooding.
Find out if the policy
replaces new for old and
if it has a limit on repairs.
• Don’t underestimate the
value of your contents.
Know how to turn off your
gas, electricity and water
mains supplies
• Ask your Assets Officer
or Housing Officer how
to do this.
Prepare a flood kit of essential
items which contains:
• Copies of your home
